Discrafts Sale !

Before I continue with my post, I wish you all can scroll down to the previous post and read what our former vice captain, Js has written. It's really important for new members and crucial for those who are going to UKM Open. I sincerely hope that everyone can learn something from it and adapt it in your gameplay. =D

Now moving on to Discrafts sale.

To all members of Frisbee Ultimate Club, Katholik :

We are having a Discraft Sale now. It's an Ultra-star Discraft which only weighed 175 grams. It has been the world standard for the sport of Ultimate, and the official disc of the USA Ultimate Championship Series. With its contoured grip and aerodynamic engineering, the dicraft has set the standard for quality, consistency and performance. So having one on your own is really useful if you wanna practise outfield.

Cheers for chsfrisbee

Hello, it was a superb view, to see 50 people wearing shirt of same logo playing frisbee on the same field.
Thanks to the new policy, hope the committee can keep on with it.
Frisbee could be a casual or a competitive sports, depending on how you think and what you want.
Whatever it is, what make ultimatae special, is this
The SPIRIT OF THE GAME
This is a social sports. You meet new friends, new lengluis, new lengzais, or even you life partner on the field.
You learn how to speak and how to communicate with your teammates.
When you are playing in the beach, you will see this!
Cool right?
You have to keep the sporting spirit whenever you are holding the disc. Dont anti social because this is what makes ultimate a really really special sports.
See got now people come, say hi to them!
See people dont know how to throw, teach them lah!
If really dont know how to throw, hold her/his hand and guide them as like they are your partner :)

Alright that's it, back to serious stuff.
What should you guys really work on (especially those who are going to UKM):
  • Straight / flat throws. ( No curve! It's not a cool thing if you can throw a curve nicely)
  • Attack the disc when you are receiving. Catch it as like that is your dinner and there are competitors who want that dinner too. GO FOR THE DISC!
  • Defense : Follow your marker as like he/she is your rival. Tight marking tight marking, if he wins, you lose. He loses, you win. No WIN-WIN. Just DONT LET HIM GET THE DISC.
  • Clean cuts. Put all your effort in doing a cut. Use all your saved up energy to a nice cut, is always better than you jog around until you run of energy. and IMPORTANT : if you failed to perform a good cut(your defender is too near to you), GET AWAY so you dont block the cutting path of other people.
These are the four things you guys should work on every week. Thats the basics of the basics.
Set an aim for yourselves, like, less than 5% of drops. And try to achieve it in every training.
You are in advantage compared to other people because you started playing ultimate much more earlier. So achieve ONE target at a time, you have lots of time.

For CHS UKM team, we do enjoy training and coaching you guys. Great discipline and semangat. That's the mentality you should keep on. And i believe ethan feels the same way as me.
We would love to come chs more often and pass down our knowledge to you guys,
so if one day you see us disappear suddenly, you know what happened.
anyway, Great job for the captain and vice captain for bringing everyone together!! really a great job.

Alright, see you all in the next training and good luck in preparing for UKM open.

This is your 08/09 vice captain speaking,

Updates - UKM Open 2011

I've received news from the organiser that UKM Open has been postponed to the 12th of February 2011 from 8-5pm. It's still 14 players per team, single gender. Fee at RM140 per team, ie RM10 per person. Girls interested can contact me. I'll forward the relevant forms to Litian/Shauna when I receive them and will post any relevant information here. Even if it's been postponed, there isn't much time to train so hope you guys train hard! Maybe you guys can get some pointers from Bryan while he's still around =)

P.S: Maybe someone can invite me as an author to the blog so I don't have to keep 'hacking' William's account.

Serious time..

There will be training this friday (7th JAN) at school..
it would start around 2 till 4pm

Since UKM Ultimate is coming up..
It's time to get serious..

Me and Siang Yi aren't fooling around anymore..
Competition is not a laughing matter..
I am not gonna tolerate any foolishness especially during the day of the competition..

I don't mind if we lose or win.. as long as we play till our best..
No matter how much we lose or win..
It's all meaningless if we never play with our heart..

Competition is a way to gain experience and learn from others..
Hope you all will learn plenty from it..

So this friday we will run your legs off.. throw till your arm gets numb..
Hope to see good attendance on friday

To all.. RUN HARD.. JUMP HIGH.. N CATCH THE IMPOSSIBLE
